Note: Usually you will see a strange creature that tags along with Sasami (See picture above) This is the cabbit (rabbit + cat = Cabbit) Ryo-Ohki, Ryoko's space ship. Sasami and Ryo-Ohki are good friends, and it's something worth mentioning

OAV

Sasami travelled the galaxy in search of their long-lost half brother, Yosho (who is Ayeka's fiancee). They pick up a signal from Earth, and find it's a power signature created by the demon Ryoko, who, years ago, lead Yosho away from Jurai to fight her. Ayeka captures Ryoko and a boy named Tenchi, and imprisons them on her ship. Sasami, who is bored, let's Tenchi out to play a game with her. She dares him to get the headband on Ayeka's neck. The results are chaotic. Tenchi doesn't get the headband, but manages to get the sword that Ayeka had confiscated from him, but in the process, he wakes her up. Tenchi and Sasami make there get away, and meet up with Ryoko. The insuing confrontation with Ayeka leads to the revelation that the sword belonged to Yosho and that Tenchi is somehow connected to Ayeka. Ryoko and Tenchi say good-bye to Sasami and make there get away on Ryo-Ohki, Ryoko's ship. Ryoko decides to destroy Ayeka's ship by crashing it on the Earth, but in doing so, she destroys her own. Now Sasami and her sister are stuck on Earth.

Universe

Sasami arrives on Earth looking for her sister, Ayeka, who had not joined up with her at rendevous point in space the day before. After meeting Tenchi, she is lead to her sister. They are finally reunited, but sadly, for Ayeka, it means the end of her vacation. This is also the first time Sasami meets Ryo-Ohki, her best friend and companion. When Ayeka and Sasami prepare to depart, Ryoko says she will join them up 'till half-way. In the Earth's orbit, Tenchi and Ayeka exchange their final farewells. Unfortunately, Sasami finds the carrot she was feeding Ryo-Ohki, and upon it's sight, Ryo-Ohki goes nuts. The insuing action is not good. Ryo-Ohki slams into Sasami's ship in an attempt to get the carrot. This sends both ships spiraling to Earth, and crashing both of them. Once again, the whole gang is stuck on the Earth. Hey, at least Ryo-Ohki got the carrot in the end.

Shin-Tenchi (In Tokyo)

Sasami is with Ayeka as they pursue Ryoko and Washuu. Sasami and Ayeka are in their pursuit because they have stolen the Jurai crystal, which hold the Jurai power, and they need to get it back. Ryoko's ship lands on Earth to look for fuel, and Ayeka's and Sasami's ship are in hot pursuit. Sasami gets lost and meets up with Tenchi for the first time. The two of them spot an explosion and arrive just in time to witness Ryoko's transformation using the Jurai power. Unfortunately for Ryoko, the necklace that Tenchi wears turns into a sword that is able to defeat Ryoko. Now Sasami and the rest of the gang stay on Earth to recupurate, and then decide to stay. Then, Tenchi decides to leave for Tokyo...
